This Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th, Historic Cherry Hill will present a special tour, “Murder at the Mansion: A Dramatic Walk through a Murderous Evening” as the third and last program in the series “Murder at Cherry Hill: A Window into Changing Times.”
The public is invited to step into the experiences of the Cherry Hill household on the evening of May 7, 1827 when a hired hand murdered a household member.
The dramatic tour will investigate the scene of the crime and the differing perspectives of those who were there on that fateful evening. The program will be offered on two days: Friday, October 26th at 4:00 pm., 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 27th at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Reservations are recommended. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
The program series, “Murder at Cherry Hill,” explores the murder of John Whipple, which took place in 1827 at the Cherry Hill mansion, home of the Van Rensselaers and their descendents from 1787-1963.
